The water
The water :
The suffering from lack of water at
the fort of Vaux the crew experienced at Verdun in 1916 pointed
out how vital its supply was.
The Schoenenbourg used water from
four origins :
- a 117 metre deep emerging
well, located close to the barraks, which allowed for the
pumping up of ground water ant the replenishing of the
nearby water-tanks,
- a source at Block 6, whose
water was rather scanty,
- the pumping at the front : a
source with a fairly appreciable flow, located at Block
5,
- re-processed water from the
blocks coatings feeding points, these various water could
supply 4 to 5 m3/h altogether.
