and 6
The Infantry Blocks 1 :
They are actually casemates, armed
with the following weapons :
- one anti-tank 4.7 cm gun,
range 500 to 1,000 m, rate 12 to 25 rounds a minute,
speed 900 m per second ;
- two 7.5 mm Reibel twin
machine-guns, range 600 to 1,200 m, rate 200 to 650
rounds a minute. On either side, they were fitted with a
disk holding 150 cartridges ; (One of the embrasures
could be armed in turn with either of the two weapons)
- one hand-grenade launcher for
short range coverage fire. Block 1 is topped with two
'cloches',(a nonmovable or fixed type of
cupola which can be used for
observation/and or various types of
light weapons), embedded in the concrete, for spying out and
short range automatic rifle coverage fire, whereas Block
6 has only got one of them.
